About
Providing services to the Superyacht industry since 1984.
It’s often said that the journey is more important than the destination but here at Quadrant Group, we’re firmly invested in both.
As proud service providers to the Superyacht industry since the incorporation of the Group in 1984, we know what it takes to make every voyage a safe and enjoyable one. Since we first set sail 40 years ago, organic year-on-year growth has seen us evolve. Today, we’re proud of our large team of dedicated specialists who have expanded beyond the marine realm into additional areas of luxury asset management.
Company culture has always been the compass that guides our success, maximizes opportunity, and propels us and our clients to new heights.
Our directors steer Quadrant Group with the belief that a happy and motivated team are more inclined to go the extra mile for the client, whilst striving to achieve personal and company goals. Because it’s within the extra mile that you find the magic.
We encourage our team to further themselves through training and gaining new qualifications. This means regular short training courses and professional education studies that relate to their roles within the company.
From our offices in Isle of Man, Malta and Jersey, we help clients all over the world make the decisions that are right for their unique journeys.
Isle of Man
As an internationally respected and well-regulated international finance centre, the Isle of Man is in a class of its own when it comes to political and economic stability. With a government that actively encourages creative business concepts, the Isle of Man is an ideal location for operating innovative and secure financial structures. It also boasts a highly successful ship registry – originally established in 1786 – as well as being the flag of choice for many of the world’s superyachts, something few other countries can match.
Malta
One of the favourite EU choices for superyachts for several reasons, Malta ticks all the right boxes for corporate, registration and tax establishment. This includes a strategic location in the centre of the Mediterranean, skilled and efficient authorities, a stable political jurisdiction, an advantageous legal and tax framework, an accessible and flexible regulator, a ‘can do’ attitude, and an industry of hard-working professionals.
The Maltese culture is one of getting things done, a sentiment shared by our own team in Malta. Quadrant Management (Malta) Limited offers expertise in areas of ownership structures, flag registration, tax structures, financing, crewing, technical, and management services.
Jersey
Jersey is one of the islands known as the Channel Islands and has a population of approximately 100,000. As a British Crown Dependency, Jersey is autonomous and self-governing with its own independent legal, administrative, and fiscal systems. Its proximity to the UK and Quadrant Group’s headquarters in the Isle of Man, along with a highly experienced talent pool, makes it the ideal jurisdiction for our crew management division.
Leadership Team
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb
Simon has worked within the shipping and yacht management industry for over 25 years, which has included the full set-up of two large crew management companies in Jersey, in 2008 and 2012 respectively. Simon is a qualified QMS Lead Auditor/Assessor, ISM Auditor and holds Diploma’s in both Crew Management and Superyacht Management. Simon joined the Group in 2010 as Head of Crew Solutions to manage its crew employment and payroll services, which has since developed into an industry market leader. Today, as a part-owner and Managing Director, Simon oversees and drives our Group operations in the Isle of Man, Cayman Islands, Jersey, and Malta.
“Quadrant have been providing Corporate and Crew Management services for our 52m motor yacht since 2013. Simon and his team are professionals to the highest level with a no drama, problem solving and supportive approach.
Simon and his team are always available in case of emergency, but also as a sounding board if I want to check the legality of day-to-day events with the boat or the crew – if he doesn’t know the answer, he will draw on the wealth of knowledge in his team from tax laws to crew contractual issues.
There is a non-judgmental, highly experienced response to any situation and I consistently feel supported in my role as Captain. I would strongly recommend Quadrant to anyone seeking such services for their yacht.”
Captain, M/Y SANAM
Catherine Connolly is one of the most experienced members of the Quadrant Group team, having joined us in 2000. During this time, she has played a key role in driving the growth and development of the business.
Catherine is a part-owner of the Quadrant Group and oversees the growing team of Client Relationship Managers and the day-to-day operations in the Isle of Man, whilst maintaining a presence on the board in her role as Director.
Catherine’s two decades of experience with the Group mean an extensive knowledge of the VAT and regulatory requirements for superyacht owners ensuring our clients receive universally exceptional service.
“I’ve had the pleasure to have Catherine as my point of contact at Quadrant Group for 11 years now. The support I receive from her is first class. She’s very knowledgeable within the industry and always makes herself available for assistance or advice.”
Captain, 42m Palmer Johnson
Paul joined the Crew Solutions team in 2017. He has over 18 years of experience working in the maritime industry, where he performed a senior role within BP Shipping for 11 years. His extensive knowledge, skills and industry experience have been instrumental in his ability to oversee crew management operations globally as well as support and/or manage various project implementations relating to crew planning, logistics, payroll, and system reviews. Paul’s wealth of expertise ensures that both client and crew satisfaction is delivered as promised, whilst keeping regulatory compliance at the forefront every step of the way. Today, as a part-owner and Crew Services Director, Paul manages a team of 10 Crew Employment Specialists delivering the highest levels of service to 1,500 superyacht crew world-wide.
“My experience with Quadrant Group and Paul Fleming has been nothing but professional, efficient and client focused. Paul and his team will go over and beyond their remit to help solve a crew issue, whatever that happens to be. They do it with passion and determination to ensure the Owner/Captain has as little crew issues as possible. In addition, they also do this within the fee structure agreed and you will not see ‘additional’ unbudgeted invoices from Quadrant.
I will recommend Quadrant to anyone who owns or operates a yacht for crew payroll and contract services. The cost is insignificant to the value you receive from them.”
