‘Quarter centurion, devout gardener, off-key songstress and Client Relationship Director ..’
How long have you been in the industry?
25 years as of last month – I know that I don’t look old enough!
What was your first ever job?
I had a Saturday job working in The Body Shop which, as a teen girl growing up in the 90s, was definitely cool. The Body Shop brand stood out for its ethical values, like being cruelty-free and environmentally conscious, which felt progressive and meaningful at the time.
What is your favourite way to unwind after a long day at work?
Heading out to my garden with my family. We are currently renovating our house, and the garden is also a work in progress but to be surrounded by plants, flowers, and fresh air provides a grounding and peaceful feeling. Gardening is most definitely a stress buster!
What is it about working at Quadrant that you enjoy?
The variety and complexity that comes with the territory. Yachting is a dynamic industry – no two days are ever the same even after 25 years! There’s a constant need to adapt, problem-solve, and stay ahead of regulatory changes, which keeps the role intellectually stimulating.
But, above all, I genuinely value the incredible team that I work with. As a Board, we’ve built a strong, supportive culture where everyone brings something unique to the table. Having a reliable and motivated team makes even the most high-pressure situations manageable – and often enjoyable.
On your dream dinner party guest list of 3, who would you bring?
David Beckham – he has had an extraordinary journey – from working-class roots to global fame both on and off the pitch! I like how he’s handled the spotlight with charm, resilience, and style. He’s also winging it as a novice gardener, much like myself! Also, and let’s be honest – he’s incredibly easy on the eye, which doesn’t hurt over a long meal!
Monty Don – a gardening icon and national treasure! Not only could I get some tips from him on how to grow prize onions and leeks, but I think the conversations we would have would be meaningful as he’s written memoirs and reflections on life, travel, and health – including his struggles with mental health. This adds depth and humanity to his public image, making him interesting beyond just plants.
My Grandma – a woman that I loved unconditionally. She had warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength that I still carry with me. I’d love the chance to sit with her again, hear her stories one more time, and show her what I’ve achieved both personally and professionally. I know that she’d be extremely proud of the person that I’ve become
What do you think is your biggest contribution to the Quadrant Group?
I hear that I’m called the “office mum” – a title I’m quietly proud of as I’d like to think that I’ve helped create a working environment where people feel supported and valued – not just as professionals, but as individuals.
I’ve always believed that leadership isn’t just about strategy or decision-making – it’s about nurturing trust, encouraging growth, and being there when things get tough.
Over 25 years, I’ve seen people start as juniors and grow into confident professionals, and knowing I’ve helped guide them along the way is incredibly meaningful.
Share a piece of advice to newcomers in the industry?
Try and understand every layer of the business if possible. The superyacht industry demands discretion, precision, and deep relationship-building—success comes from listening well and delivering quietly under pressure. Always, always act with integrity!
You’re marooned on a desert island with just one song to play – which one is it?
Take That – Never Forget
For me it’s a song packed with nostalgia – it brings back so many memories of my younger years. It’s a song that begs to be sung loudly which I could do on a desert island as I’m known for my lack of singing skills!
How would your nearest and dearest describe you in three words?
Well, my Mum said she could sum me up in one word – ‘theatrical!’ My Dad said ‘dramatic!’ I’d like to think I’d be described as ‘kind, thoughtful and caring.’
